When you get introduced to bagels in a place like New York City, you can’t help but compare, and it’s just not the same whereever you go. Those 99¢ bagels have something about them that bring you eternal happiness.
Since I’ve been in Dubai, I’m always hesitant to buy bagels from supermarkets. I think it’s mainly because I don’t have a small oven to toast it in lol.
My sister and I decided to check out The Bagel Bar Coffee House in Dubai Festival City. It’s usually quiet in the mornings so it’s a good place to sit with your friends, and talk or gossip. We all love a place with good hygienic conditions, and this place is very clean and the staff is friendly. The food is prepared in front of you so no hidden agendas there for sure. Although, it was a bit weird that our server couldn’t give us any recommendations on what to order.
We ended up with a Cajun Chicken bagel and a Tomato and Cheese Panini. Personally, charging AED25 for a bagel sandwich or a panini that only comes with, literally counting on my fingers, 4 pieces of potato wedges, is a tad bit too much.
I will not say the food was exceptionally great, but it wasn’t all that bad either. The cappuccino (AED17 for a medium size) was this huge cup and totally worth the price.
Coffee is my weakness and I like any and all kinds, so that was worth the price.
Their menu consists of Bagels, Paninis, Toasties, Baked Potatoes, Salads and a Full Breakfast menu – eggs, pancakes, waffles and crepes. Each item has specific nutritional information and calorie intake listed on the menu, which is great.
If you want a satisfying bagel, head over to Dunkin Donuts. They make simple bagels, charge less and they come with a hot/cold beverage. It’s not about the money, it’s about the taste.
The Bagel Bar has locations in Dubai Marina, Dubai Festival City, Downtown Dubai and Dragon Mart 2.
