I am quite fascinated by the Pakistani Truck Art decor. The little lantern decorations, to the baby chairs, and everything in between is truck art infested. After many failed attempts, we finally decided to head there. The seating arrangements include regular tables and chairs and then they have bed like platforms to sit on, which are called “Takht”. We got a place on the Takht and frankly speaking, once you get to sit on it, you don’t feel like getting up. We cannot blame others for lying down on it after chai when we do exactly the same lol. The weather was simply amazing. Some friends had already been there and highly recommended the place, and suggested to try the Peshawari Mutton Karhai and the Bihari Kabab. Initially, I had given them an average review but that was probably because it was a late Thursday evening and we got our food after about an hour, the karhai was quite dry and the service kinda sucked.
I’ve been there twice after, and the karhai has been top notch, the bihari kababs have been super delicious. Normally I don’t ever order butter chicken at restaurants, but their Chicken Makhni Handi was ahhh-mazing. Other items tried and tested would be Charsi Karhai (Lamb) and Mutton Afghani Karhai. Both, mouthwatering. Yes, service is kind of slow, but its not too much of an issue after they have served you some amazing food.
The chai aka Doodh Patti is the kind of chai that takes you back to Pakistan. It is one of the most amazing chai’s I’ve had. I’m not a big fan of Kashmiri Chai but I’ve heard it’s quite good too.
It definitely deserves 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. Don’t judge too quickly like i did. We weren’t too happy the first time around and it was probably because it was quite late on a Thursday night. If you weren’t too happy the first time around, give it another shot. It took us 2 visits to change our mind and have been there a total of 3 times. I would surely go back over and over again.
